Promoting a sustainable environment is a strategic goal for the Lake County Board, and we have made significant progress toward this goal through a variety of strategies and initiatives. Energy Efficiency and Conservation
Lake County is using $5.6 million of federal stimulus funds to implement several projects that reduce energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions and operational costs across county departments, including energy retrofits in facilities and routing DOT vehicles more efficiently. More...

What Can YOU do?
1) Don’t be a water waster! Learn more about water conservation.
2) Conserve energy (and save money on your bill). Learn more.
2) Recycle! Learn out about recyclable materials and guidelines for recycling in Lake County, household chemical waste collections, and electronics recycling collection events
by visiting the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County (SWALCO) website.
3) Think 'Green' at home and work! Turn off your computer at the end of each day. Take it a step further and turn off the power strip and print double-sided. Better yet, go paperless whenever possible.
