The Clerk of the Circuit Court maintains a record of all documents filed for all cases. Most of these documents are public record.
Requesting Document Copies
Requests for copies can be made in person or through the mail. Please call our file department first at 847.377.3352:
- To find out if the file is readily available if you plan on coming in person. Some files may need to be retrieved from storage.
- To find out what the fee is for the copies you are requesting. This is especially important if you are requesting your copies through the mail.
Fees for Copies:
Hard copy automated medium $6.00 per page
Copies from court file/microfilm $2.00 first page
$.50 for each additional page up to 20 pages
$.25 for all remaining pages
Certification or seal of office $6.00
Certified copy of the judgment after the 1st $15.00
Information to include when making a request:
- Case number and/or party name involved
- Name of document you are requesting
- If you need the document certified
- Self-addressed stamped envelope (when requesting through the mail)
- Payment for the copies (cash, money orders and credit cards are accepted in person) (Money order and certified checks accepted through the mail) Personal checks are not accepted.
