Board Approves Wadsworth Road and Delany Road Improvements
The Lake County Board recently approved two road improvement projects that will help address congestion in northeastern Lake County, including  the reconstruction and widening of Delany Road from York House Road to Wadsworth Road to five lanes. This is in addition to the segment between Sunset Ave. and York House Road that was approved by the board last year. Both projects are scheduled to begin this year. Additionally, the Board approved improving Wadsworth Road in downtown Wadsworth, which includes reconstructing and adding a center turn lane, bike friendly paved shoulders, and improving the railroad crossing and sidewalks. Construction will begin this year.
Lake County Continuum of Care Program Awarded $1.9 Million for Homeless Services

Lake County works with partner agencies to coordinate and provide quality services for homeless people through the Continuum of Care program. This year, the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development awarded nearly $2 million in grants to homeless service agencies in Lake County. Snowbirds Can Enroll to Vote by Mail
Lake County Clerk Willard Helander reminds Lake County registered voters who spend part of the year outside of the county (usually winters) that they can enroll in the Snowbird Voting by Mail Program. Those enrolled will automatically receive an application for ballot by mail for the elections specified. Illinois law requires individuals voting by mail to complete an application for ballot before each election, and a ballot will be mailed to the voter only after the Clerk receives the signed application. Visit VotingbyMail.info for more information.
