SURVEY: Lake County's Transportation Market Analysis
Lake County is conducting a comprehensive study to better understand the daily travel of people in the county so we can consider enhancements to our public transportation system. Specifically, we want to know where Lake County residents are going and when they are traveling. We also want to know how often Lake County residents use public transportation and whether or not public transportation options are available. TAKE SURVEY
Watch County Update: Focus on the Lake County Health Department
The Lake County Health Department/Community Health Center provides a broad range of medical and dental services, as well as behavioral and environmental services, and many other programs. In this edition of County Update, County Board Chairman David Stolman talks with Health Department Executive Director Irene Pierce about these services and some key initiatives, including prevention and assuring access to health services. Election News: Registered Voters can Apply to Vote by Mail and Preview their Ballot at LakeVoterPower.info
To vote by mail in the March 20 Primary, registered voters may request an official application for ballot from the Lake County Clerk's Office. Illinois law requires each person voting by mail to complete an application for ballot before each election. Once the signed application is received, a ballot can be mailed to the voter. Visit LakeVoterPower.info for more information. Also, on this site, voters can preview their official ballot. Sample ballots may be printed, marked with the voter's choices and taken into the polls for reference when voting.
Lake County Holds Open Houses on Application to Rezone Property at Rt. 12 and Old McHenry Road
The Dimucci Family has applied to Lake County to develop their approximately 109 acres of property at Rt. 12 and Old McHenry Road located in southwestern unincorporated Lake County. The request is for a rezoning from residential to commercial with a planned unit development to allow for up to 53 acres of high quality commercial development, surrounded by about 50 acres of open space.  The Lake County Planning Building and Development Department and the applicant have worked diligently for many months on an extensive design plan consisting of almost 250 specific design conditions. Residents can learn more about the proposal, ask questions of county officials, and provide feedback at a series of open houses in March. Learn more.
