Double Payments

• All payments are considered voluntary.  These monies have already been distributed to the taxing districts. 
• If you are from a lending institution or title company, it is now mandatory for you to sign up for Auto Agent at www.autoagentsoftware.com.  The cost for using this software is up to $0.20 per parcel.  This should eliminate Double Payments.  Non participation in AutoAgent may waive your right for refunds.
• Refunds can only be obtained when sufficient documentation (a written release and proof of payment) are submitted from both payers. voluntarily.
• The policy that the Lake County Treasurer’s office follows is that it will NOT allow us to remove a payment without having another check to replace it.
• Refunds/Double Payments are researched on a case by case basis.
